April 4, 2010 - Edzimkulu Film to be Shown at XVIII International AIDS Conference

We are excited to announce that the film "End Stigma: Together We Can - A true story of hope and courage in overcoming the stigma of HIV" has been selected to be shown at the XVIII International AIDS Conference in Vienna, Austria. The film was produced by Edzimkulu volunteer Tim Senger and will be used as an educational tool in South Africa. The film tells the story of how members of Memeza Africa, a choir from Soweto, South Africa, reach out to the community in Ndawana for support and encouragement to face their own stigma of HIV. It features inspirational stories of courage and hope, and practical advice about living with HIV. It includes interviews with Edzimkulu Executive Directors Jim and Chris Newton, Ndawana Community Health Workers, and members of Memeza Africa. The film also features a World AIDS Day celebration in 2008. The film will be available on Edzimkulu’s website shortly. The XVIII International AIDS Conference takes place between July 18 and 23.
